| § April 6, 2008 - Tribal Belly Dance Workshop: Sensual Slow Moves & Sword Work |
|
Tribal Belly Dance Workshop with Vikki of Hipnosis. In this workshop, we will slow things down and learn to feel the music as we dance. We will focus on the slow, sensual moves that are so mesmerizing in tribal style belly dance. Core strengthening drills will be incorporated to help you achieve smooth, fluid slow moves. You will learn a variety of slow moves as well as level changes and sword work, and how these techniques work in a group improvisation format. At the end of the workshop, you will have the skills and material needed to create your own powerfully sensual dance! Please bring your own sword. |

| § April 19, 2008 - International Spring Fest |
|
The largest multicultural festival in Montgomery County, it celebrates ethnic and cultural heritages by presenting foods, performances and cultural exhibits from many countries. Performers this year will include the Voloshky Ukrainian Dance Troupe (back from last year by popular demand), Obidiah (an African drum and dance ensemble), the Steven Cain Jazz Quartet, Lenny Gordon, Hipnosis Tribal Belly Dance, and the Soul Senders. Activities for children are also planned, including a passport program and a special crafts room, where children can try ethnic foods, costumes, musical instruments and art projects. |
